Macquarie University is set in 135 hectares of natural bush, about 16 kilometres north west of the Sydney CBD, linked by expressway and direct public transport.

Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport is approximately 30 kilometres from Macquarie. As a guide, you can expect to pay over $50 for a one-way taxi fare to the university.

There is an Express Bus from Sydney airport to Town Hall in the Sydney CBD (Route 300), which runs every 20 minutes and takes approximately 30 minutes. This costs $7 one-way and $12 return. For details contact the State Transit Express Bus website: http://www.sydneybuses.nsw.gov.au/sb.express.html

From Town Hall you can then connect with Buses 288, 290 or 292 from York Street (behind the Queen Victoria Building) to Macquarie University. These buses run frequently and stop in the University grounds. For a timetable, see the State Transit website: http://www.sydneybuses.nsw.gov.au/index.html

A number of other regular bus services also stop in the University grounds. These connect with several railway stations, including Town Hall, Wynyard, Parramatta, Blacktown, Eastwood, Epping, Chatswood, Lindfield and Gordon. For more information on buses servicing the University go to: http://www.reg.mq.edu.au/General/bus.htm
