Regimes of Terror

Gordon Hookey, Waanyi artist, Cloncurry, N. Queensland
In the post-September 11 era, we are witnessing the exercise of forms of power and governmentality through the dismantling and assembling of a range of institutional discourses and practices in relation to Indigenous rights, civil liberties, human rights, sovereignty, war, asylum seekers and activism among other issues concerned with social justice.
This colloquium brings together speakers from a variety of spaces (academic, professional and community organisations) to contribute to emergent knowledge about the effects of the contemporary 'terror formation' on a range of communities situated within national and international contexts.
